Hi! I'm Eli. I was born in Chicago but I've lived in Evanston my whole life. Below you can see an image of me, and 2 images of me with my family. One of them is with my parents and brother in Missouri while biking and the other is from a trip I took with my grandfather to Boston.
When I was in 8th grade I created a website called ILVaccine.org to help Illinois residents locate appointments for the COVID-19 vaccine. I used automated computer programs and volunteers to update the availability. I'm proud that I was able to help people find COVID vaccines in this time of need.
If I had to pick 5 personality traits to describe myself I would choose curious, punctual, independent, persistent and honest.
Some of the extracurriculars that I participate in are Lincoln Douglas debate, cross country (XC), Emerge and codETHS.
In the near term I'm hoping and excited to have a successful school year: hopefully set some more PRs this cross country season and get better at debate and do well in my classes. I'm a little concerned that I'll get too busy and not have enough time to do my best at school and to have time for myself but I'm hoping to work on my time management.
Well I don't know about you, but when I want to see myself I look in the mirror. More seriously, I see myself as someone who (I hope) is generally a good person but I think some things I could work on are being a better listener and helping people more when they need it.
I do a lot of things for fun, including baking, coding, biking and hanging out with friends. Fun fact: some of my favorite things to bake are sourdough, pretzels and bagels.
I like to travel, see new places and try new things. See below for some pictures I took this summer from Nova Scotia.
My favorite TV show that I've watched (somewhat) recently is Schitt's Creek. I thought it was funny and something I looked forward to watching, not just something that took up time. In terms of music, I kinda just listen to random stuff that varies depending on what Spotify recommends me. I haven't had a ton of time to play video games lately, but I really like Stardew Valley.
